Racing cover is only available on Premium Bicycle Insurance policies. **What is the maximum bicycle value you insure?** The maximum value per bicycle is $30,000. Only one bicycle can be insured per policy, but additional bicycle policies can be listed under the same Velosure account and attract a 10% multi-bike discount. **Is there an excess payable?** Yes. On Basic Bicycle Insurance the excess is $75 for bicycles valued below $1,000 and $125 for bicycles valued above $1,000. Premium carries a fixed $250 excess per loss event. A double excess applies to theft from common property, a loss event outside Australia and New Zealand, and a loss event within 45 days of the commencement of the insurance period (excluding renewals). **Do you cover electric bicycles?** Yes. Cover applies to electric "pedal-assist" or "pedelec" bicycles with a maximum continuous power output of 500 watts and a maximum assisted speed of 25 km/h. Throttle control is permitted only up to 6 km/h, after which the motor can operate only if the rider is pedalling. The e-bike must be configured to the manufacturer's original specification — retro-fitted conversion kits not endorsed by the manufacturer are excluded. **Are there specific security requirements?** Your bicycle must always be securely locked with an approved lock through the frame to an immovable object. The exceptions are: kept inside a fully enclosed home, garage or outbuilding with all windows and doors securely locked; at a coffee shop where you can prove the bicycle was never more than 5 metres away and in your direct line of sight; or transported inside a securely locked vehicle or ute canopy during daylight hours. **Who is eligible?** The minimum age is 18 and the maximum age is 85. Professional and sponsored cyclists are not eligible, nor are riders who use bicycles for courier or delivery work, for hire or reward, or for carrying paying passengers. Amateur racers are covered provided they have a financial interest in the bike and have not received more than a 50% discount on it. You must reside in Australia for the policy period, but need not be a citizen or permanent resident. **Do you still offer Cyclist Liability Insurance?** No. Velosure no longer offers Cyclist Liability Insurance as a new policy or for renewal. Existing policyholders remain covered until 11:59 pm on the day their policy expires. This has no impact on Velosure bicycle insurance policies.
