As an Insurance Claims Expert, you'll be joining a team that combines deep cycling knowledge with insurance experience. You'll work closely with our Australia and New Zealand team, leveraging your technical claims expertise and bicycle knowledge to deliver superior outcomes for both Velosure and our customers. You'll be part of a supportive structure, working under the guidance of our AU Claims Leader, who will help you navigate the intricacies of our unique insurance niche and grow your career.

What you'll do

As an Insurance Claims Expert at Velosure, you'll be at the forefront of our customer-centric approach, managing the end-to-end claims process with a focus on great customer experience. Your role will involve:

  • Orchestrating the entire claims journey from lodgement to settlement, providing empathetic support and clear guidance to customers throughout the process.
  • Leveraging your cycling-specific network and knowledge to manage costs effectively and deliver optimal claim outcomes.
  • Conducting thorough investigations and validations of reported claims, ensuring fair and accurate settlements within policy coverage limits.
  • Identifying potential fraudulent claims and following established procedures to maintain the integrity of our services.
  • Resolving complaints and disputes promptly and professionally, adhering to agreed service levels.
  • Authorising claim payments within your delegated authority, ensuring compliance with policy guidelines, company procedures, and industry regulations.
  • Collaborating with the Third Party recovery team by gathering effective information for successful recoveries.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of our claims processes and customer experience.

Who you are

  • Proven experience in insurance claims management, preferably in a customer-facing role.
  • A deep understanding of and enthusiasm for cycling culture and technology.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
  • A customer-centric mindset and the ability to empathise with claimants in stressful situations.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate electronic claim files.
  • Familiarity with insurance policy guidelines, industry laws, and best practices.
  • The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team environment.
  • A passion for continuous learning and staying updated on trends in both cycling and insurance.
