ECS tackles Port to Port 2019
The ECS cycling crew, a group of eight middle-aged men who are having as much fun as they can, while they can, will be tackling the Port to Port over the next four days.
The group regularly head out on the plethora of trails around the Manly Dam area in Sydney before work. The single tracks in this area have become known as some of the best in Sydney. Their ride is usually followed by a hot cappuccino with extra Flake sprinkles at Bacino. The baristas always top the groups’ coffee with Extra Chocolate Sprinkles – hence the name ECS.
The Port to Port is a 4 Stage MTB Race that takes place over four days in New South Wales from Thursday 23 May to Sunday 26 May 2019. Each stage is roughly 50kms and offers riders plenty of quality single tracks, challenging climbs, thrilling descents, and exceptional scenery. This means it will dish up a good combination of adrenalin and fun for the group.
The route is around incredible Australian regions such as – the Hunter Valley wine district and the famous surf beaches of Newcastle. Furthermore, Port to Port has introduced pairs racing to the mix to align itself with the world-renowned Absa Cape Epic. The winners of the Port to Port will earn a spot at next year’s Absa Cape Epic.
The goal of the ECS crew is to have fun racing together, drink a few beers, laugh a lot, smash new trails and to create some incredible memories.
